Thank you for visiting our website and for your interest in our church. We are not holding services at our church location, however I would like to invite you to participate in worship with us via Zoom. We have Bible Study on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday worship at 11:00 a.m. If you have not received an email and you would like an invitation, please email us at rockyridgeumc@ctc.net. God continues to do amazing things in our lives. One of the great things about Rocky Ridge is that we love God and enjoy the fellowship of one another. Even when we cannot meet in person, we visit each other on Zoom and keep up with each other through texts, emails, phone calls and cards. I know these are difficult times for us, so I leave you one of my favorite verses: “May the God of Hope fill you up with joy, fill you up with peace, so that your believing lives, filled with the life-giving energy of the Holy Spirit, will brim over with hope” (Romans 15:13, The Message).

God’s Blessings to you! Tam Wensil, Pastor

Prayer(from Hear our Prayer)

We thank you, Father, for those days in the desert when, through prayer and fasting, Jesus discovered your will for his life and overcame the temptations of the evil one. Help us, during these days to come close to you and to listen to your voice. Give us strength to overcome temptation to please ourselves and live life without you. Teach us your way, for Jesus’ sake, Amen.

Capital Campaign

Rocky Ridge United Methodist Church is in a 3-year capital campaign to eliminate building debt on our Family Life Center. The campaign, “Climb the Rock to Financial Freedom,” runs from January 2019 – December 2021. The church currently pays about $36,000 per year in mortgage costs. We started thinking, “What more could we do for God with those resources available for ministry, rather than obligated to the bank?” Members and friends of the church are making financial contributions above and beyond their “regular” contributions toward the capital campaign, making progress toward paying off the debt, and giving the church space to dream about what can be possible in the future. Throughout the church’s history, every generation has stepped up to do its part when called upon. Paying off the debt, now, is our opportunity to rise to the occasion. Whether you make a one-time gift, one that recurs monthly, all gifts make a difference to the campaign, whether large or small. Thank you for your gift, and may God bless your generosity!

We are excited about the tithing aspect in our capital campaign. We see how God is working through our tithing not only impacting us, but also our community and world. We find much joy in helping others.

In our 1st quarter of tithing, we were able to help: Hickory Ridge Bible Teaching Association, Central Cabarrus Bible Teaching Association, Northwest Cabarrus Bible Teaching Association, Mount Pleasant Bible Program, Performance Learning Center
2nd quarter: Annual Conference with Hurricane Relief
3rd quarter: RRUMC Crisis Ministry and UMCOR
4th quarter: One Mission Society for the Fletcher Five in Equador
In our 5th quarter, we plan to help First Hmong UMC, Honduras Mission Team and school lunches for children our local area.
